1. Educational purpose
The information on this website is provided for general education about skin cancer and skin lesion surgery. It is not a substitute for a personal consultation, examination, biopsy and assessment by a qualified clinician.
2. No guaranteed outcomes
Outcomes vary from person to person. No surgeon can guarantee that a skin cancer will not recur, that it has not already spread, or that a scar will be inconspicuous. Scars are permanent although they usually fade. Melanoma prognosis depends on features such as thickness and ulceration that are measured only after removal. Any description of typical recovery or results is general and may not apply to your individual situation.
3. Seek professional advice
If you have a lesion that is changing, bleeding, itching or failing to heal, seek medical attention promptly rather than waiting. After any operation, warning signs include fever, spreading redness, a wound that opens or discharges, a graft or flap that changes colour, and new swelling in the neck, armpit or groin.
